Support Technical Engineer responsible for configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and day-to-day support of IoT devices and related systems. Ensures smooth device operations, timely issue resolution, and coordination with internal teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy IoT devices as per project requirements
- Perform device installation, testing, and commissioning at site or remotely
- Monitor device performance and ensure continuous connectivity
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and network-related issues
- Work on Linux-based systems for device access, configuration, and debugging (basic level)
- Access devices via SSH and perform basic command-line operations where required
- Maintain logs of issues, resolutions, and daily activities
- Provide technical support to clients via call, email, or remote access
- Coordinate with development team for bug fixes and improvements
- Handle SIM/network configuration, IP settings, and server connectivity
- Perform firmware upgrades and device health checks periodically
- Maintain inventory records of devices, accessories, and spares
- Assist in documentation, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), and reports
- Support field engineers and guide them on technical issues
- Ensure adherence to company processes and timelines
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of IoT systems and device communication
- Knowledge of networking concepts (IP, TCP/IP, SIM-based connectivity)
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and serial communication
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating system (commands, file system, SSH access) – preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to use remote tools and diagnostic software
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms and APIs (Application Programming Interface)
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in technical support / IoT / embedded systems (Freshers can apply)
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel for site visits if required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting
