We're growing our Bangalore team and looking for a strong Senior Go Backend Engineer to work on a German / US project to build production-ready platform services from the ground up. You'll work on realtime, distributed, and streaming-adjacent systems — think WebSocket fan-out, high-concurrency connections, and event-driven architectures at scale. If you enjoy owning architecture decisions and building greenfield services that need to be fast, reliable, and clean, this one's for you.
Experience: 5+ years as a Backend Engineer, incl. 2+ years at senior level
What You'll Do
* Build production-ready, greenfield platform services in Go
* Design and operate realtime backends: WebSockets, fan-out, backpressure, many concurrent connections
* Work across distributed systems using Kafka, Redis, and Pub/Sub
* Design and evolve APIs (REST, RPC or GraphQL) on top of PostgreSQL
* Write unit, integration, and contract tests in Go
* Own architecture decisions and document them via ADRs
* Optimize for latency, throughput, and event persistence
* Critically review AI-generated code and use agentic tooling responsibly
Must Have
* 5+ years backend experience, incl. 2+ years at senior level
* Strong hands-on Go/Golang expertise
* Experience shipping greenfield projects to production
* Distributed systems: Kafka, Redis, Pub/Sub
* Solid PostgreSQL
* API design with REST, RPC or GraphQL
* Realtime experience: WebSockets, fan-out, backpressure, high concurrency
* Testing discipline in Go: unit, integration, contract tests
* Ownership of architecture and code quality (ADRs)
* Hands-on with AI agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) and the ability to critically vet AI output — blind copy-paste is a no-go
Good to Have
* Realtime/chat systems: event persistence, latency optimization
* Video/streaming integration: LL-HLS, SSAI/SCTE-35, CDN (no GPU, codecs, or transcoding — those are integrated, not built)
* OAuth2/OIDC, ClickHouse or other analytics databases
* Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud (AWS/GCP), CI/CD and observability (GitHub Actions, Prometheus/Grafana)
