The Tender Manager is a critical role responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process. You will oversee the preparation of complex proposals, ensuring they are high-quality, competitive, and delivered on time. This role requires a blend of project management, technical writing, and commercial acumen to navigate legal and financial requirements while collaborating with various internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Bid Management: Lead the proposal process from initial "Go/No-Go" analysis to final submission and post-bid debriefs.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the central point of contact for subject matter experts (SMEs), legal, finance, and technical teams to gather necessary inputs.
- Risk Assessment: Review tender documentation to identify potential commercial, operational, or legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Quality Control: Edit and proofread technical and commercial responses to ensure they meet the client's evaluation criteria and reflect the company’s value proposition.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all bid submissions comply fully with the instructions provided in the RFP (Request for Proposal) or ITT (Invitation to Tender).
- Market Analysis: Monitor procurement portals for new opportunities and keep an updated database of competitors and market pricing trends.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain a library of standard response templates and track "Win/Loss" ratios to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: [5+] years of experience in bid management, procurement, or a related commercial role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Bid Management tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple overlapping deadlines under pressure.
- Communication: Strong persuasive writing skills and the ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to compliance and formatting.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with [Industry Specific, e.g., Construction, IT, Healthcare, Stationary, Furniture, etc] procurement regulations and public/private sector bidding.
