Junior Security Analyst Intern

About the Role
The Junior Security Analyst Intern role provides hands-on exposure to Security Operations Center (SOC) operations, vulnerability assessment, and cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Interns will support security monitoring, incident response, documentation, and research while learning how enterprise security environments are protected under the guidance of experienced cybersecurity professionals.
Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring security alerts, logs, and incidents using SIEM and other security monitoring tools.
- Participate in initial incident triage and response activities to help contain and mitigate security threats.
Vulnerability Management
- Support vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing activities.
- Help identify, prioritize, and track remediation of security vulnerabilities across systems and applications.
Security Awareness
- Assist in developing internal cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
- Create and share security best practices to promote a strong security culture.
Documentation
- Document security processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident response procedures.
- Maintain records of system configurations, access controls, and security assets.
Security Tools
- Gain hands-on experience with enterprise security tools used for monitoring, detection, and prevention.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new security solutions and automation initiatives.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and Infrastructure teams to implement and validate security controls.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to integrate security into daily operations.
Research
- Stay updated with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
- Conduct research to improve security processes and recommend best practices.
Presentations
- Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for internal meetings and client requirements within tight deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in projects beyond core SOC and VAPT activities as assigned.
- Contribute to cloud security, automation, and emerging technology initiatives.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, SOC operations, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on projects or internship experience in SOC, cloud security, or vulnerability management.
- Basic knowledge of Linux, networking, and scripting (Python or Bash) is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Relevant certifications such as ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), SC-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or Security+ are a plus.
