Job Role
To perform hands-on mechanical maintenance and provide operational support for utilities, offsite, and bagging systems in Greenfield and operational plants. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of mechanical equipment through preventive and breakdown maintenance, as well as support during shutdowns and commissioning activities.
Job Description
A. Maintenance Work
· Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
· Assist in installation, erection, and commissioning during Greenfield project execution.
· Ensure timely rectification of mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
B. Utilities Equipment
· Perform maintenance of:
o Compressors
o Pumps
o Boilers
o Air Dryers
o Cooling Towers (if applicable)
· Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities.
C. Rotary Equipment
· Handle maintenance of gearboxes, rotary drums, and other rotating equipment.
· Assist in laser/dial alignment, coupling checks, and bearing replacement.
· Support basic vibration checks and lubrication activities.
D. Material Handling Systems
· Maintain and troubleshoot:
o Belt and screw conveyors
o Bucket elevators
o Bagging and stitching machines
· Ensure smooth and continuous material flow.
E. Basic Maintenance Skills
· Carry out greasing and lubrication as per maintenance schedules.
· Perform tightening, part replacement, gasket and seal changes.
· Assist in equipment alignment and assembly/disassembly activities.
F. Troubleshooting
· Conduct basic fault identification and implement quick rectification.
· Escalate complex mechanical issues to engineers or supervisors with proper details.
G. Drawings Understanding
· Interpret basic P&ID, General Arrangement (GA),* and equipment layout drawings* to support maintenance and installation activities.
H. Tool Handling
· Ensure proper and safe use of mechanical tools and measuring instruments, such as:
o Torque wrenches
o Vernier calipers and micrometers
o Dial gauges
o Bearing pullers
· Maintain tools in good working condition.
I. Safety Compliance
· Strictly adhere to Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
· Ensure correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage at all times.
· Follow all hazardous area safety and statutory guidelines.
· Participate in toolbox talks and safety drills.
J. Shutdown Support
· Assist in planned shutdowns and major overhauls, including dismantling, inspection, reassembly, and testing of equipment.
· Ensure readiness of tools and spares for shutdown activities.
K. Housekeeping
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in line with 5S principles.
· Ensure safe storage of tools, consumables, and dismantled parts.
L. Team Support
· Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians.
· Support commissioning and start-up activities during project phases.
· Participate in skill development and continuous improvement initiatives.
M. Reporting
· Provide daily maintenance updates and promptly report abnormalities.
· Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and job cards in SAP/CMMS (if applicable)

Education & Experience
Educational Qualification:
· ITI – Fitter / Diploma - Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
· 4–5 years of relevant experience in Utilities, Offsite, or Bagging operations within industries such as Fertilizer, Chemical, Petrochemical, Cement, Power, or other continuous process plants.
· Exposure to Greenfield project environments will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹450,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
