The Assistant Security Officer supports the Security Officer in maintaining a safe and secure environment for people, property, and assets. The role involves monitoring premises, enforcing security policies, assisting with incident response, and ensuring compliance with organizational safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in patrolling assigned areas to prevent and detect security breaches
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and access control points
- Control entry and exit of staff, visitors, and vehicles
- Report suspicious activities, safety hazards, or policy violations
- Assist in responding to emergencies such as fire, theft, medical incidents, or evacuations
- Maintain accurate security logs, incident reports, and daily activity records
- Support investigations by gathering information and evidence when required
- Enforce company rules, regulations, and security procedures
- Provide courteous assistance and directions to visitors and staff
- Coordinate with senior security staff and external emergency services when necessary
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior experience in security or a related field (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of security operations and safety procedures
- Ability to remain alert and calm under pressure
- Good communication and observation skills
- Physically fit to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
