Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled DTP (Desktop Publishing) Operator to join our editorial team for the UPSC category. The candidate will be responsible for creating, formatting, and finalizing high-quality print and digital content including textbooks, practice papers, question banks, and other academic resources. This role requires precision, speed, and an eye for design to ensure error-free, student-friendly layouts.
Key Responsibilities

Designing and formatting textbooks, question banks, and exam preparation materials

Preparing clean, well-structured page layouts according to editorial guidelines

Handling typesetting of mathematical, tabular, and diagram-based content

Working on multi-color layouts, tables, infographics, and charts

Incorporating editorial corrections, proofreader’s marks, and author inputs efficiently

Preparing print-ready PDFs and ensuring alignment with printer’s specifications

Coordinating with the editorial team, designers, and printers to ensure timely delivery

Ensuring consistency in fonts, spacing, margins, and styles across all publications

Maintaining version control and file management for different projects

Supporting the creation of digital outputs (eBooks, PDFs, promotional creatives) as required
Required Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, CorelDraw, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Office

Strong knowledge of typesetting, page layout, and design principles

Experience in handling academic/educational publishing will be an advantage

Ability to work with mathematical equations, tables, and charts

Keen eye for detail, accuracy, and speed

Good understanding of print production processes

Strong organizational and time-management skills
Qualifications

Graduate / Diploma in DTP, Graphic Design, Printing Technology, or related field

2–5 years of experience as a DTP Operator in publishing, preferably educational/academic books

Freshers with strong skills and portfolio may also be considered
