Job purpose
We are seeking a tenured Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of a complex, multi
phase reporting and data platform modernization program for banking clients. The ideal candidate can
independently plan, lead and manage teams on complex data engineering, data reporting and data
infrastructure modernization (for e.g. scalable data warehousing and integration, scalable data pipelines,
robust data-quality frameworks, orchestration setup, dashboard enablement and compliance-ready
designs). Responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed implementation plans, milestone
tracking and SoW management, maintaining RAID logs, coordinating cross-functional teams across
delivery, infrastructure, DWH, and business stakeholders, leading steering committee governance and
executive readouts, managing acceptance and sign-offs, overseeing dependencies and risks with client
Business/Tech teams, supported by strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation
skills.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the multi-phase reporting and data platform modernization program for banking clients, ensuring timely execution, stakeholder alignment, milestone-based delivery, and achievement of business
outcomes
- Lead by collaborating with data engineers, architects, business analysts, developers, UX leads to ensure cohesive design and implementation.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously refine the overall implementation plan, phased delivery schedule, milestone
tracker, and RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log
- Coordinate mobilization, planning & alignment, critical process migration, orchestration setup, scale-out waves, dashboard enablement, and BAU transition phases across workstreams
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and governance forums (Steering Committee, Working Groups, Daily Stand-ups, Architecture Review Boards)
- Manage client dependencies across IT/Infrastructure, data teams, Business SMEs, Steering, and external tooling vendors; track provisioning, access, and approvals (e.g., provisioning of infrastructure, data connectivity, code
repos, ETL tools, BI tools, orchestration tools etc.) and escalate blockers proactively
- Track progress against milestones, deliverables, and acceptance criteria per deliverable phase; ensure quality and completeness of all project artifacts and business sign-offs.
- Oversee risk management, compliance, project scope creep and change control to safeguard timelines, scope, and commercial terms.
- Ensure effective communication and alignment between client sponsors, technical teams, and business
stakeholders across geographies
- Prepare and deliver executive readouts, status reports, MoMs, steering decks, and handover documentation for client sign-off
- Manage milestone-based invoicing, SoW compliance, and commercial tracking in close coordination with Acuity's legal, commercial, and account leadership teams.
Key competencies
Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields- 8+ years of project management experience in data transformation and modernization programs, with at least 3
years delivering to Global Markets preferably front office (Commodities, Fixed Income or Equities trading desks).
- Proven delivery of large-scale, multi-phase implementation projects involving data engineering, data infrastructure migration, orchestration setup, and BI/reporting enablement — including managing delivery models with parity validation and business sign-off.
- Strong command of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies, with experience running steering committees, working groups, and stand-ups across geographically distributed teams.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in leading with strong stakeholder management (clients, team members) for complex data and technology projects
- Demonstrated experience managing delivery teams of 10–20+ across data engineering, BI, and analytics
functions.
- Demonstrated experience planning and leading phased project lifecycles & milestone-based delivery in clientfacing engagements.
- Working knowledge of modern data platform components (Python, orchestration tools such as Airflow, SQL Server / data marts, Databricks, BI tools, Azure/AWS ecosystems) — sufficient to engage credibly with technical teams and client architecture stakeholders without requiring deep hands-on expertise.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with C-level and senior business sponsors.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive outcomes across Business (trading), Finance, IT and external vendor groups in a matrixed organization.
- PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or equivalent certification preferred.
