Key Responsibilities Inventory & Warehouse Operations Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, inter-godown transfers, and shipping Act as the central point of contact across all warehouse locations, ensuring the Warehouse Management System and our homebuilt location/inventory app are updated accurately and on time. Ensure accurate inventory levels through regular physical and book stock checks, audits, and reconciliations (monthly and as needed) Train and support warehouse staff on correct, consistent use of the WMS and the app. Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve accuracy and efficiency Import & Sales Logistics Manage the end-to-end import process — liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport partners, and following up to ensure timely clearance and delivery Track each shipment from booking through customs clearance to final delivery. Proactively monitor domestic in-transit shipments, flag likely delays before the customer reports them, and ensure timely resolution. Maintain import and logistics documentation in line with applicable compliance requirements (e.g., shipping and customs paperwork, e-way bills, GST) Cost Control & Process Improvement Monitor and control transportation and logistics expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving projects to reduce spend and optimize the use of resources Negotiate freight rates and maintain a panel of reliable, cost-effective transport vendors. Reporting & Coordination Prepare and maintain MIS reports, stock summaries, and logistics updates for management Design and implement simple, user-friendly trackers or dashboards (Excel/Sheets or within the homebuilt app) to replace manual or inconsistent processes. Coordinate closely with the sales team on stock availability, dispatch priorities, and order fulfilment Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to keep operations aligned and responsive Who We’re Looking For Must-Have Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher. 2–5 years of experience in logistics, inventory, supply chain, or operations Strong working knowledge of inventory management principles and warehouse processes Hands-on experience with inventory or ERP software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or similar) Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite, with strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide tailored, practical solutions for operational challenges Comfort working with technology, and an interest in using AI tools to make processes more efficient Fluency in English, Hindi, and Bengali (Fluency in Gujarati a bonus) Willingness to work full-time from the office in Kolkata, with occasional visits to warehouse locations. What Will Set You Apart Diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Export-Import Management. Hands-on exposure to coordinating import shipments with freight forwarders / customs house agents (CHAs) Prior experience in a B2B distribution, trading, or industrial manufacturing company — background in engineering components or bearings is a strong plus. A track record of building or improving SOPs, or driving measurable cost and efficiency gains Experience using automation or AI tools to streamline logistics or inventory operations A proactive, high-ownership mindset — able to anticipate and flag issues before being asked to. Comfort with spreadsheet automation (formulas, pivot tables, Google Apps Script, etc.) to reduce manual tracking effort.
