Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Operations Head to lead end-to-end operations for our Vijayawada unit. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the Dairy or Ice Cream industry and be capable of driving operational excellence across manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, cold chain logistics, quality, and retail operations. The role requires strong leadership, process orientation, and a hands-on approach to ensuring efficiency, compliance, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Factory Operations
- Oversee daily production planning and execution to meet business demand.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and production capacity.
- Improve productivity while minimizing wastage and operational costs.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely order fulfillment.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Ensure strict implementation of FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through regular stock audits and cycle counts.
- Minimize product losses, expiries, and stock discrepancies.
- Ensure efficient warehouse operations, storage, and stock rotation.
Cold Chain & Distribution
- Manage cold chain operations to maintain product quality throughout storage and transportation.
- Oversee dispatch planning and ensure timely deliveries to distributors, retailers, and company outlets.
- Optimize logistics routes and transportation costs while maintaining service levels.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and company SOPs.
- Maintain quality assurance processes across production, storage, and distribution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Store & Retail Operations
- Monitor product availability across all retail outlets and distribution channels.
- Coordinate with store operations teams to ensure inventory availability and merchandising standards.
- Support new store launches and operational setup.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Production, Warehouse, Dispatch, Maintenance, and Operations teams.
- Establish performance KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement.
Supply Chain & Procurement
- Coordinate with procurement teams for timely sourcing of raw materials and packaging materials.
- Ensure uninterrupted production through effective inventory planning.
- Develop strong vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance.
Financial & Operational Control
- Manage operational budgets and control manufacturing costs.
- Analyze operational KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare MIS reports and present operational performance to management.
Process Improvement
- Develop and implement SOPs across operations.
- Drive Lean practices and process optimization initiatives.
- Introduce automation and technology to improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
Experience
- 15–20+ years of experience in Operations.
- Mandatory experience in the Dairy Industry.
- Experience in Ice Cream, Milk Processing, Dairy Products, or Food Manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing large manufacturing and distribution operations.
