About Us
Wock Oliver is a leading company in the water and wastewater treatment industry. We design, supply, install, and commission complete treatment plants across municipalities, industry, and residential sectors.
This role is based at our new Bangalore office, which we are setting up now. You would be joining early and helping build the team, so expect a fast-moving environment where you help shape how things are done.
About the Role
Our design team turns client requirements into complete, buildable water and wastewater treatment plants, and we want an experienced Design Engineer to own that work. You will lead the process and detailed engineering behind our plants, from front-end sizing and technology selection through to the calculations, drawings, and documentation that turn a proposal into something real. You will work across our full portfolio of treatment technologies and act as the technical voice on client queries, sitting between our sales and factory teams to keep every design accurate, costed, and deliverable.
Key Responsibilities
Design the plants
- Own the process design and engineering calculations across the full treatment train: screening and headworks, primary treatment (clarifiers, DAF), biological and secondary stages (MBBR, MBR, SBR, ASP, extended aeration), tertiary, dewatering, and water treatment (RO, UF, NF, multi-media filtration).
- Select the technology, size the units, and balance the hydraulics for each project.
- Define the SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation and control requirements the design calls for.
- Produce the engineering drawing set in AutoCAD, from PFDs, P&IDs, and general arrangements to equipment and piping layouts and 3D plant models (AutoCAD Plant 3D), and coordinate with the civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
Own the technical proposal
- Build the technical side of proposals for industries such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, and general industrial effluent.
- Answer clients' technical clarifications and shape the design around their requirements.
- Write the engineering documentation, technical submittals, and O&M manuals.
- Work with sales and the factory so what we quote is feasible, priced right, and matches what we can build.
- Sign proposals off for accuracy and completeness before they go out.
Raise the standard
- Turn recurring work into standard templates, process libraries, and reference designs so the team moves faster.
- Keep drawings and documents under clean version control and well organized.
- Maintain a vendor and materials database for reliable pricing and specification.
- Keep designs compliant with engineering codes and environmental rules, and with the design and discharge standards of the countries we sell into.
Who We Are Looking For
- A degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; a Master's is a bonus.
- 3+ years designing water and wastewater treatment plants across a range of technologies.
- Strong process and mechanical engineering judgment, with hands-on AutoCAD skills including AutoCAD Plant 3D for the full drawing set.
- Working knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation and controls.
- Confidence reading and applying design and discharge standards from different countries.
- A track record of technical proposals, engineering documentation, and O&M manuals.
- Comfortable handling client technical points directly.
- Organized and disciplined about version control and records.
- A sharp problem-solver with a strong eye for detail.
- Open to occasional international travel for projects and client meetings.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary and benefits package.
- The chance to work across our full range of treatment technologies.
- International projects across many industries.
- A collaborative team that values your judgment.
We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage candidates from all backgrounds and experience levels to apply. If you are motivated, adaptable, and ready to contribute in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.
