As a Digital Journalist Intern, you will work with our editorial team to research and create engaging, accurate, and timely content for our website, digital publication, and social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and write news stories, articles, and digital content for our website and publication.
- Monitor breaking news, trending topics, industry developments, and social media for potential stories.
- Cover topics across areas such as Technology, Automotive, Real Estate, Travel, Business, Entertainment, and Lifestyle.
- Research information from reliable sources and verify facts before publication.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles suitable for a digital audience.
- Assist in creating headlines, summaries, and social media copy for published stories.
- Adapt website stories into engaging posts for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and other social channels.
- Assist the editorial team with updating existing stories when new information becomes available.
- Follow editorial guidelines, deadlines, and journalistic standards.
- Work closely with editors and other members of the content team to improve story quality and presentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Students or recent graduates in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field are preferred.
- Strong interest in news, digital media, journalism, and current affairs.
- Excellent written English and strong grammar.
- Good research and fact-checking skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise content.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Willingness to learn and take editorial feedback.
Preferred Skills
- Previous internship, college publication, blogging, or freelance writing experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with WordPress or other CMS platforms is a plus.
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital publishing is preferred.
- Experience creating social media content is an added advantage.
