Astra Consulting is a growing CPA firm based in Melbourne, Australia, with an operational office in Ahmedabad, India. We provide bookkeeping, accounting, taxation, payroll, and advisory services to Australian businesses across multiple industries.
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeping Manager with strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping practices and prior experience managing a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping functions for Australian clients.
- Review and supervise bookkeeping work completed by junior and senior team members.
- Handle bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, BAS preparation support, and month-end reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of client work.
- Train, mentor, and monitor the performance of the bookkeeping team.
- Allocate work, manage deadlines, and maintain productivity within the team.
- Coordinate with Australian clients and internal stakeholders professionally.
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and client requirements.
- Work on cloud-based accounting platforms and related applications.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4–7 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping/accounting.
- Prior experience handling or managing a bookkeeping/accounting team is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Xero
- MYOB
- QuickBooks Online
- Australian Payroll
- BAS & GST concepts
- Excellent understanding of Australian accounting processes and compliance.
- Strong review, communication, and team management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines efficiently.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- Experience working with Australian CPA firms/accounting firms will be preferred.
- CA/CPA pursuing or completed candidates will have an added advantage.
Pay: ₹110,000.00 - ₹130,000.00 per month
