About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Tamil Quality Checker (QC) to join our Content and Localization team. In this role, you will help deliver high-quality localized content for global audiences. You will review AI-assisted and human-produced audio, video, subtitles, transcriptions and translations, ensuring they are linguistically accurate, technically sound and culturally appropriate. Your attention to detail and language expertise will be essential in maintaining quality standards and creating a seamless viewing experience for Tamil-speaking audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate Tamil transcriptions against audio and video content for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Review Tamil translations from English, Hindi and other languages to ensure the original meaning, tone, intent and context are accurately preserved.
- Perform linguistic quality checks on Tamil audio recordings, including AI-generated speech, text-to-speech (TTS), dubbing and voiceovers, evaluating pronunciation, fluency, naturalness and overall quality.
- Identify and document linguistic, grammatical, spelling, punctuation, timing, synchronization and contextual issues, providing clear and actionable feedback.
- Collaborate with translators, transcribers, voice artists, Project Managers and Language Leads to maintain high quality standards throughout the localization process.
- Use internal QA and localization tools to identify mismatches, synchronization issues and other quality concerns.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with project-specific style guides, glossaries, terminology and client requirements.
- Maintain consistency across projects by following established workflows, quality standards and best practices.
Required Skills:
- Native or near-native fluency in Tamil with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong command of Tamil grammar, spelling, punctuation and language conventions.
- Proficiency in understanding and translating between Tamil and English and between Tamil and Hindi.
- Strong voice acting skills with the ability to support dubbing projects. Prior experience in the dubbing industry is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand spoken Hindi fluently. Reading and writing proficiency in Hindi is not mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in transcription, translation, language quality assurance, content review or audio QC.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently as well as within a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Tamil Literature, Linguistics, Mass Communication or a related field.
- Experience in media localization, subtitling, dubbing, AI localization or TTS and voice-based projects.
- Strong understanding of Tamil cultural nuances, regional dialects and localization best practices.
- Familiarity with localization, subtitling or QA tools is an added advantage.
