Teachers are expected to use innovative teaching methods like discussions, maps, charts, and real-life examples to make learning interesting. In most schools, especially under organizations like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, a TGT teacher also participates in co-curricular activities, maintains records of student progress, attends meetings, and communicates regularly with parents.
