About the role
We are looking for an experienced MS SQL Database Administrator (L2) to manage and support mission-critical SQL Server environments. You will be responsible for Failover Cluster and Always ON setup, transaction replication, linked server configuration, database patching, hardening, and day-to-day operations — ensuring high availability and performance of database infrastructure around the clock.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor generated logs and event files to detect and respond to database errors and incidents
- Monitor DR database availability, log replication status, and report as per agreed schedules
- Perform session, query, log, and latch monitoring to ensure optimal performance
- Identify and respond to imminent database failures through proactive log and event monitoring
- Purge database logs and trace files; manage periodic configuration reviews
- Reinstall database software and reconfigure log shipping when required
- Configure and manage transaction replication and linked servers
- Manage failover clustering and Always ON availability groups
- Perform database patching, hardening, and migration activities
- Create and manage job schedules, maintenance plans, and index rebuild routines
- Perform database defragmentation and performance tuning of DB parameters
- Restore databases and drive corrective action on DB-related incidents
- Use trend analysis to create and manage Problem Management Records
- Automate routine administration tasks and maintain up-to-date environment documentation
- Manage all service requests through the change management process
- Produce monthly reports on database availability

Qualifications
- B.E. / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Electronics & Telecommunication
- B.Sc. IT / BCA / MCA (full-time from a reputed university)
- No gap in education — passing year for SSC, HSC, and Degree/Diploma must be mentioned
- Relevant Microsoft SQL Server certification preferred (e.g. DP-300: Azure Database Administrator)
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
