Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager – Rice & Agro Commodities to lead our procurement operations, source high-quality grains and agricultural products, and manage key supplier relationships. In this role, you will analyze market trends, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure seamless supply chain execution from farm/mandi level to warehouse delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and establish strong networks with farmers, aggregators, millers, and trade suppliers across major agricultural belts.
- Procurement & Price Negotiation: Monitor commodity price movements, seasonal market dynamics, and export/import trends to secure optimal buying rates.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased rice and agro commodities comply with internal quality standards, industry regulations, and safety norms.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Finalize procurement contracts, enforce terms, track vendor performance, and resolve supply disputes promptly.
- Inventory & Logistics Coordination: Work alongside supply chain and logistics teams to optimize stock levels, prevent wastage, and ensure timely dispatch/receipt.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on procurement/purchasing experience specifically in rice and agro commodities (grains, pulses, oilseeds, or spices).
- Industry Network: Strong pre-existing network of mandis, millers, traders, and agricultural cooperatives.
- Market Insight: Deep understanding of crop cycles, grading standards, moisture levels, pricing factors, and government policies (e.g., MSP, export/import duties).
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, commercial acumen, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Pay: ₹16,935.59 - ₹25,000.00 per month
