1. JOB PURPOSE
To facilitate effective teaching and learning of English for students at the middle and secondary school levels by delivering engaging, age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned lessons. The teacher will develop students’ language proficiency, communication skills, critical thinking, creativity and appreciation of literature while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver well-structured English lessons in accordance with the prescribed curriculum and school academic plan.
- Teach English language, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, listening and literature.
- Use innovative, interactive and student-centred teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to students with varied learning abilities and needs.
- Encourage students to develop effective communication and presentation skills.
- Integrate technology, digital resources and relevant teaching aids into classroom instruction.
- Promote critical thinking, creativity, independent learning and problem-solving skills.
B. Assessment & Academic Progress
- Prepare and conduct class tests, assignments, projects, examinations and other assessments.
- Evaluate students’ work accurately and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain proper records of student performance, assessments and academic progress.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate remedial measures.
- Prepare students effectively for periodic tests, examinations and competency-based assessments.
- Participate in question-paper setting, moderation and evaluation as required.
C. Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and establish a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Follow the school’s child protection, safeguarding, No-Touch Policy and other institutional policies.
- Monitor student attendance, participation and overall classroom behaviour.
- Encourage mutual respect, teamwork and responsible behaviour among students.
D. Student Development
- Support students in developing confidence, communication skills and positive attitudes towards learning.
- Identify individual strengths and areas for improvement.
- Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students when required.
- Encourage participation in debates, elocution, creative writing, literary activities, competitions and other co-curricular programmes.
- Contribute to the holistic development of students beyond academics.
E. Curriculum & Resource Development
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, teaching materials and other academic resources.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities.
- Maintain and update teaching resources in line with current educational practices.
- Participate in departmental planning and academic reviews.
F. Parent & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ academic progress and classroom performance.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide appropriate feedback.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, HODs, coordinators, counsellors and school leadership.
- Address student-related concerns promptly and professionally.
G. School Activities & Additional Responsibilities
- Participate actively in assemblies, celebrations, school events, field trips and co-curricular activities.
- Support examination duties, invigilation, substitution and other academic responsibilities.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes and professional development initiatives.
- Take up additional responsibilities assigned by the HOD, Academic Coordinator or Principal.
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in English or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. is mandatory/preferred as per school requirements.
- TGT qualification/eligibility as applicable.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Relevant teaching experience at the middle/secondary school level is preferred.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
