Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced PostgreSQL DBA with strong expertise in database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and replication.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL databases in development, staging, and production environments and should be capable of handling production database operations and troubleshooting complex database issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, staging, and production environments.
- Perform database monitoring, health checks, log analysis, and performance analysis to ensure high availability and stability.
- Configure and manage PostgreSQL replication, including streaming replication and replication lag monitoring.
- Support database backup and recovery activities, including scheduled backups, restore testing, and disaster recovery planning.
- Monitor database performance and optimize slow-running queries, indexes, vacuuming, and database parameters.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity issues, locks, deadlocks, replication failures, storage issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure database security through effective user access management, roles, permissions, and database security best practices.
- Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support deployments and resolve production issues.
- Prepare and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration and operations.
- Hands-on experience with database monitoring and performance tuning.
- Strong expertise in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Experience with PostgreSQL replication and streaming replication.
- Knowledge of query optimization, indexing, vacuuming, and database parameter tuning.
- Experience troubleshooting production database issues.
- Understanding of database security, user roles, and permissions.
- Experience working in production environments.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
