Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic & Manual Fixture Design Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in designing fixtures for CNC machining applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in designing hydraulic and manual fixtures for HTC, VTL, VMC, HMC, 4th Axis, and 5th Axis CNC machines. The candidate must be proficient in Creo and AutoCAD and possess strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, work holding principles, fixture design, and hydraulic clamping systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design hydraulic and manual fixtures for HTC, VTL, VMC, HMC, 4th Axis, and 5th Axis CNC machines.
- Create 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed drawings using Creo and AutoCAD.
- Design workholding solutions based on the 3-2-1 locating principle.
- Select and integrate standard hydraulic components such as cylinders, swing clamps, link clamps, support cylinders, manifolds, valves, and fittings.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), hydraulic circuit layouts, and technical documentation.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure fixture accuracy, repeatability, and machining quality.
- Analyze and resolve fixture-related issues by implementing effective design improvements.
- Optimize fixture designs to reduce setup time, improve productivity, minimize cycle time, and enhance machining efficiency.
- Ensure all designs comply with GD&T standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing best practices.
Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic and manual fixture design for CNC machining applications.
- Hands-on experience in designing fixtures for HTC, VTL, VMC, HMC, 4th Axis, and 5th Axis CNC machines.
- Proficiency in Creo (3D Modeling) and AutoCAD (2D Drafting).
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, fixture design principles, and workholding systems.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic clamping systems.
- Good understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing standards.
- Ability to prepare BOMs, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
