Job Description – Secondary ICSE English Teacher Position
Secondary School English Teacher (Grades VI–X)
Reports To Principal / Academic Coordinator
Purpose of the Role
To teach English Language and Literature in accordance with the ICSE curriculum, fostering strong communication, critical thinking, creativity, and a love for reading and writing among students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the ICSE syllabus.
- Teach English Language, Literature, Grammar, Composition, and Communication Skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Evaluate students' academic performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Encourage reading habits, public speaking, creative writing, debates, and literary activities.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into classroom instruction.
- Maintain discipline and create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' progress and concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings, school events, examinations, and co-curricular activities.
- Perform examination-related duties such as paper setting, invigilation, evaluation, and result preparation.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory).
- Master's Degree in English (Preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in an ICSE or equivalent secondary school (preferred).
Skills and Competencies
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the ICSE curriculum and assessment practices.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital teaching tools.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire students.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
