Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dynamic Head of Department (HOD) – English to lead the English Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for academic leadership, curriculum planning, teacher mentoring, classroom observations, and ensuring outstanding student outcomes in English Language and Literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the English Department effectively.
- Plan, implement, and monitor the English curriculum in line with CBSE/ICSE/State Board requirements.
- Mentor, guide, and evaluate English teachers to improve teaching quality.
- Conduct lesson observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop annual academic plans, assessments, and learning resources.
- Monitor student performance and implement improvement strategies.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and maintain academic standards.
- Organize literary activities, debates, public speaking events, reading programs, and English clubs.
- Coordinate with the Principal and academic team on curriculum planning and school initiatives.
- Conduct parent meetings and communicate student progress effectively.
- Promote the integration of technology and innovative teaching practices in the classroom.
- Maintain departmental records, reports, and documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master's Degree (M.A.) in English.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordinator role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CBSE/ICSE/State Board curriculum.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and digital teaching tools.
