Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Migration Engineer to support a large-scale data center and infrastructure migration involving approximately 1,000 physical and virtual servers. The engineer will be responsible for planning, executing, validating, and documenting server migrations while ensuring minimal business disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute server migration activities according to approved migration schedules.
- Perform pre-migration assessments, dependency analysis, and readiness checks.
- Migrate Windows and Linux physical and virtual servers.
- Coordinate application owners, infrastructure teams, and vendors during migration windows.
- Execute backup, restoration, and rollback procedures when required.
- Validate server functionality after migration.
- Troubleshoot migration-related issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Maintain migration documentation, asset tracking, and status reports.
- Follow ITIL change management and incident management processes.
- Participate in weekend, after-hours, and scheduled maintenance activities.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and storage technologies.
- Experience with server migration, data center relocation, or infrastructure transformation projects.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4–8 years of infrastructure administration or migration experience.
- VMware, Microsoft, or Red Hat certifications are desirable.
Preferred Experience
- Large enterprise migration projects.
- Automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
- ITIL process knowledge.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
