Senior Manager - Urban Planner shall be responsible for Lead and oversee the technical, managerial, and operational aspects of urban and regional planning projects across India. Responsible for project delivery, team leadership, client coordination, stakeholder engagement, technical quality assurance, and business development support through proposal and bid preparation.
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
- Lead the preparation and review of Master Plans, Development Plans, Regional Plans, and other urban planning assignments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to multidisciplinary planning teams working across multiple projects and geographies.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Review planning analyses, development strategies, implementation frameworks, and policy recommendations.
- Conduct gap assessments, situational analyses, and strategic planning studies to support project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, statutory frameworks, and applicable planning guidelines.
Project & Team Management
- Plan, allocate, and monitor project tasks and resources to ensure efficient project execution.
- Coordinate with project teams across India and provide technical and managerial support as required.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and milestones to ensure adherence to timelines.
- Facilitate internal reviews and quality assurance processes to maintain technical excellence.
- Manage project risks and proactively resolve operational and technical challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement & Field Management
- Lead and facilitate stakeholder consultations, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), workshops, and public engagement activities.
- Coordinate interactions with government agencies, urban local bodies, development authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Design, manage, and supervise field surveys, data collection exercises, and survey team training programs.
- Synthesize stakeholder inputs into planning recommendations and project outputs.
Talent Acquisition & Capacity Building
- Conduct candidate screening, interviews, and technical assessments for planning and project positions.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and capacity-building initiatives within the planning team.
- Mentor junior planners and foster professional development within the organization.
Business Development & Proposal Management
- Lead the preparation of technical proposals, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and bid documents for urban planning and infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to project scoping, methodology development, work planning, and resource estimation for new business opportunities.
- Support organizational growth through identification of strategic opportunities and client engagement
Work Experience
- 12 – 15 Years of experience
- Prior experience on mater plans/ zonal plans/ development plans/ City Development Plan
- Lead and manage planning teams across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with senior management, clients, government agencies, urban bodies, and external stakeholders.
- Provide technical oversight and strategic direction for planning assignments
