The Cognition Platform Architect is a dual role of being technical authority and Platforam Admin for the Devin AI platform across Mercedes-Benz. This role designs the enterprise-wide architecture for Cognition adoption — including environment blueprints, integration patterns, playbook standards, and technical governance — ensuring the platform scales reliably and securely across 1500+ engineers globally and is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and operational management of Devin platforms across Mercedes-Benz.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Blueprint Design — Design and maintain the three-tier blueprint hierarchy (Enterprise Organization
- Repository) that standardizes how Devin operates across all Mercedes-Benz repos

Integration Architecture — Architect integrations between Devin and enterprise systems including Git providers (GitHub Enterprise), SSO/SAML, MCP servers, CI/CD pipelines, secret managers (Azure Key Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), and observability tools

Technical Standards & Patterns — Define and enforce coding standards, environment configurations, and security patterns that Devin sessions must follow

Playbook & Skill Authoring Guidance — Establish best practices for playbook design, skill development, and knowledge note curation; review and approve enterprise-level playbooks before publication

Blueprint Tier Strategy — Define which configurations belong at enterprise, org, and repo levels; manage configuration inheritance and override policies

Environment Configuration — Design initialize/maintenance scripts, snapshot strategies, and environment variable management patterns for consistent, fast session startup

Proof of Concept & Evaluation — Evaluate new Devin features (MCP integrations, Devin Review, Auto-Fix, API batch orchestration) and architect their enterprise rollout

Vendor Technical Interface — Serve as primary technical contact with Cognition AI engineering for architecture discussions, feature requests, and integration support

User & Organization Management — Onboard/offboard users, manage organization structures, configure team memberships, and maintain accurate user directories across all Devin organizations

Repository Configuration — Set up and maintain repo-level configurations including environment configs (initialize/maintenance scripts), Git provider connections, and branch protection alignment

Permissions & RBAC — Manage role-based access controls, enforce least-privilege principles, and ensure proper separation between org-admin, member, and guest roles
Secrets Management — Administer the three-tier secrets hierarchy (organization user- repository-scoped secrets); coordinate secret rotation schedules; ensure no secrets are hardcoded in environment configs

ACU Budget Allocation — Monitor and allocate Autonomous Compute Unit (ACU) budgets across organizations and teams; set usage limits, track consumption patterns, and flag anomalies

Git Provider & SSO Configuration — Maintain Git provider integrations (GitHub Enterprise), SSO/SAML configurations, and authentication flows

Environment & Snapshot Management — Manage environment configurations, trigger and monitor snapshot builds, pin stable snapshots, and troubleshoot build failures in coordination with SRE

Support Ticket Resolution — Serve as L2 support for user-facing configuration, access, and setup issues escalated from self-service channels
