This role sits at the intersection of creative thinking and hands-on execution. We're not looking for someone who just operates After Effects — we're looking for someone who, given a rough concept or a one-line brief, can think through the story, the visual hierarchy, and the pacing before a single frame is animated. You'll own the full journey from concept interpretation to a polished, on-brand motion video.
Key Responsibilities
● Interpret creative briefs and concepts from strategy, copy, and client-servicing teams, and translate them into a clear visual treatment before animating anything.
● Develop mood boards, storyboards, or rough visual sequences to pressure-test a concept's storytelling and pacing prior to production.
● Design and animate motion graphics videos across formats — social-first (Reels/Shorts), long-form (YouTube), and platform-specific cuts (LinkedIn, etc.).
● Own the full production pipeline: concept interpretation → storyboard → design → animate → QC → multi-format export.
● Collaborate closely with copywriters, strategists, and account managers to ensure every video reinforces the brand narrative and campaign objective, not just looks polished in isolation.
● Stay current with motion design trends and AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Canva AI), incorporating them to increase output speed without compromising quality or originality.
● Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines without dropping quality on any one of them.
Required Skills & Tools
● Strong conceptual and storytelling ability — can take a rough or one-line brief and independently develop a visual narrative, not just execute literal instructions.
● Hands-on proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
● Solid grasp of animation principles: key framing, easing, transitions, typography motion, visual hierarchy.
● Working familiarity with video editing tools (Premiere Pro / CapCut / Filmora) is a strong plus.
● Comfort with AI-assisted design and motion tools, and genuine interest in adopting new ones as they emerge.
● Understanding of how format and pacing should differ across platforms (Reels vs. YouTube vs. LinkedIn).
Qualifications & Experience
● Graduate degree in design, animation, visual communication, or a related field — preferred but not mandatory if the portfolio demonstrates strong conceptual and execution ability.
● 2–4 years of relevant experience in motion graphics or visual design, with a portfolio showing genuine concept-to-execution work rather than templated animation.
● Prior experience translating client or strategy briefs into visual output is a strong plus.
