Position: EVS Teacher (Environmental Studies) – PRT Level
Department: Primary Section (Classes I–V)
Job Summary
An EVS teacher is responsible for teaching Environmental Studies to primary students using simple, activity-based, and experiential learning methods. The role focuses on developing awareness about the environment, nature, society, health, and basic science concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach EVS to Classes I–V:
- Our Environment (nature, water, air, soil)
- Plants and animals
- Human body and health
- Family, home, and community
- Safety rules and good habits
- Basic science and daily life concepts
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and activity-based learning materials.
- Use real-life examples, models, charts, and demonstrations for better understanding.
- Conduct classroom activities, projects, and group discussions.
- Develop observation, curiosity, and awareness among students.
- Conduct regular assessments, oral tests, and classwork evaluation.
- Maintain student progress records and attendance.
- Provide remedial support to slow learners.
- Organize nature walks, environment-related activities, and school projects.
- Maintain a safe, interactive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding student performance.
- Participate in PTMs, school events, and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation in Science / Social Science / Education or related field.
- D.El.Ed / BTC / JBT / B.Ed. (mandatory in most schools).
- CTET (Paper I) preferred for CBSE schools.
- Good understanding of basic science and social concepts.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–5 years of primary teaching experience preferred.
- Experience handling primary classes is an advantage.
