1. Role Overview
The S&M Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of installed solar systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance. You’ll be the first point of contact for post-installation issues at client sites.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and servicing of solar panels, inverters, structures, and wiring as per schedule.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose faults in DC/AC side, inverter errors, low generation, earthing issues. Rectify on-site or escalate to senior engineer.
- Performance Monitoring: Check plant performance via monitoring portal/data loggers. Identify underperforming strings and take corrective action.
- Client Interaction: Handle client complaints professionally. Explain issues and solutions in simple terms.
- Reporting: Log service visits, issues found, actions taken, and spares used. Submit daily service reports.
- Safety: Follow electrical safety protocols, use PPE, and ensure lockout/tagout during maintenance.
3. Required Qualifications
- Education: ITI/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy. Electrician license preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years. Prior experience in solar, UPS, or electrical maintenance is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, MCBs, DC/AC wiring
- Use of multimeter, clamp meter, IR tester
- Reading single line diagrams
- Soft Skills: Good communication, punctuality, problem-solving attitude.
4. Work Conditions
- Field-based role with travel to client sites
- Work at heights and outdoor conditions. Rooftop work required
