OVERVIEW:
An implant store in charge in an orthopedics hospital manages the precise inventory of surgical hardware (plates, screws, artificial joints). This role ensures all sterilized, patient-specific implants are available for surgeries, tracks expiry dates, coordinates with suppliers, and maintains compliance with medical storage and auditing standards.
Qualifications & Background
- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Pharmacy, or Hospital Administration. Candidates with an Operation Theatre (OT) Technician certification are highly preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 2years of relevant inventory or storekeeping experience, ideally within a hospital’s central sterile supply department (CSSD) or surgical/orthopedic store.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of high-value orthopaedic implants (trauma, spine, joint replacement) and consumables to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- OT Coordination: Collaborate with the Operation Theatre (OT) team and surgeons prior to surgery to confirm the exact implant sizes, types, and sets required for the procedure.
- Receiving & Sterilization: Inspect incoming deliveries for quality and defects, and ensure all items are appropriately sterilized, labeled, and stored in compliance with infection control standards.
- Documentation & Auditing: Maintain accurate records of all receipts, issues, and returns using Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with implant manufacturers and distributors for procurement, timely delivery, and the return of damaged, expired, or unused consignment stock.
- Expiry Management: Conduct regular audits of stock to ensure "First Expire, First Out" (FEFO) utilization and to prevent the use of expired medical devices
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
