About Bildwell
Bildwell – Construction Simplified is a technology platform designed to simplify the planning, execution and operational management of construction projects for contractors and their teams.
The platform helps contracting businesses manage workflows such as leads and customers, projects, project areas, site activities, site visits, issues, BoQs, procurement, material management, invoicing, payments, reporting and related construction operations from a structured digital platform.
The objective is to help contractors move away from fragmented processes involving spreadsheets, WhatsApp conversations, manual follow-ups and disconnected information toward a more organised and measurable operating system for their business.
Role Overview
We are looking for an energetic and articulate Business Operations Intern who will work closely with prospective and existing Bildwell customers.
This is not a back-office internship.
The role involves understanding the Bildwell platform in depth, interacting directly with contractors and their teams, conducting product demonstrations, helping customers register and configure their accounts, guiding them through their initial projects and supporting continued platform adoption.
The intern will therefore operate at the intersection of:
Product Understanding + Customer Interaction + Business Operations + Customer Success
The objective is not merely to explain the software, but to understand how a contractor currently operates and help the customer translate those business processes into Bildwell workflows.
Key Responsibilities1. Understand the Bildwell Platform
Develop a strong functional understanding of the Bildwell platform, including its major workflows and the business problems each module is intended to solve.
The intern will be expected to understand areas including:
- Lead and customer management
- Project creation and management
- Project areas and activities
- Project milestones
- Site visits and site reports
- Work-progress updates
- Issue tracking
- BoQ-related workflows
- Material and procurement workflows
- Vendor management
- Purchase processes
- Material receipts
- Inventory-related workflows
- Sales invoicing and payment tracking
- Project reporting
- Mobile application workflows
- Support tickets and FAQs
The intern should be able to explain these capabilities in simple business language rather than merely describing software screens.
2. Understand Customer Business Processes
Interact with contractors and their teams to understand how they currently manage their business.
Typical discussions may cover:
- How projects are created and tracked
- How responsibilities are assigned
- How site progress is monitored
- How project information is communicated
- How drawings and documents are maintained
- How BoQs are managed
- How material requirements are identified
- How vendors are selected
- How purchase orders and material receipts are managed
- How customer billing and vendor payments are tracked
- Where Excel, WhatsApp or manual processes are currently being used
Based on these conversations, identify how Bildwell can fit into and improve the customer's operating process.
3. Customer Calls
Participate in and progressively conduct calls with prospective customers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Introducing Bildwell to prospective customers
- Understanding the customer's business profile
- Identifying relevant operational challenges
- Explaining relevant Bildwell capabilities
- Scheduling product demonstrations
- Following up with interested prospects
- Recording customer requirements and observations
- Maintaining professional and structured communication with prospects
The objective of the call should be to understand the customer's requirements and demonstrate relevance rather than simply reciting a sales pitch.
4. Conduct Platform Demonstrations
Learn to independently conduct structured Bildwell product demonstrations.
The intern will be expected to:
- Understand the customer's contracting business before the demo
- Select relevant workflows for demonstration
- Explain the business problem being addressed
- Demonstrate the relevant Bildwell workflow
- Answer basic product questions
- Record questions requiring further clarification
- Capture customer feedback
- Identify areas of interest or concern
- Recommend appropriate next steps
Different customers may have different priorities. Demonstrations should therefore be adapted according to the customer's business rather than following exactly the same sequence every time.
5. Customer Interaction and Relationship Management
Act as a professional point of contact for assigned customers during their evaluation and onboarding journey.
Responsibilities include:
- Responding to customer queries
- Coordinating demonstrations and follow-ups
- Understanding customer concerns
- Collecting product feedback
- Following up on pending actions
- Maintaining interaction notes
- Escalating unresolved product or technical issues
- Coordinating internally with product, support and business teams where required
All customer communication should be professional, accurate and documented.
6. Customer Registration and Onboarding
Assist new customers in successfully setting up their Bildwell accounts.
The onboarding process may include guiding customers through:
- Account registration
- Organisation setup
- Business information
- Project-type configuration
- Area-type configuration
- Team-member invitations
- User access
- Initial project setup
- Project areas
- Activity configuration
- Project responsibilities
- Relevant operational workflows
The objective is to ensure that the customer does not merely register but reaches the point where the platform is configured sufficiently for actual business use.
7. Customer Guidance and Training
Provide functional guidance to customers and their team members.
This may include:
- Explaining workflows
- Conducting online training sessions
- Helping users navigate the platform
- Demonstrating specific modules
- Assisting users during initial transactions
- Sharing relevant FAQs or training material
- Identifying recurring areas of confusion
- Helping customers adopt recommended workflows
The intern should progressively develop the ability to independently train new customer users.
8. Customer Success and Adoption
Support customers after onboarding to encourage sustained platform usage.
Responsibilities will include monitoring whether customers are actually using the platform and identifying possible adoption gaps.
Typical activities may include:
- Checking whether projects have been created
- Reviewing whether team members have been added
- Identifying incomplete setup
- Following up with inactive customers
- Understanding reasons for low usage
- Helping customers overcome adoption barriers
- Encouraging use of relevant features
- Recording customer feedback and feature requests
- Escalating product issues
- Supporting renewals and continued adoption where applicable
Success should be measured by active customer usage, not merely account registrations.
9. Customer Support Coordination
Assist customers in resolving functional issues and coordinate with the appropriate internal team when necessary.
Bildwell's support processes include ticket creation, assignment, lifecycle management, escalation, resolution tracking, communication history and FAQs.
The intern may therefore be responsible for:
- Helping customers raise support tickets
- Understanding the reported issue
- Categorising functional queries
- Following up on open issues
- Communicating resolution status
- Confirming resolution with customers
- Identifying recurring support queries
- Contributing to FAQs and knowledge-base content
10. Capture Customer and Market Feedback
Customer conversations are an important source of product intelligence.
The intern should systematically document:
- Customer pain points
- Existing processes
- Frequently requested functionality
- Missing workflows
- Usability challenges
- Customer objections
- Reasons for non-adoption
- Reasons for successful adoption
- Competitive products being used
- Frequently asked questions
- Recommendations for improving demos or onboarding
Relevant insights should be periodically consolidated for the Product and Business teams.
11. Maintain Operational Records
Maintain accurate records of assigned prospects and customers.
This may include:
- Calls completed
- Demo status
- Follow-up actions
- Customer requirements
- Registration status
- Onboarding status
- Training status
- Customer queries
- Support issues
- Product feedback
- Adoption status
- Next action and follow-up date
The intern should develop disciplined CRM and follow-up habits.
