A Safety Manager for civil construction projects oversees health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on job sites, ensuring compliance with legal standards (e.g., OSHA, local norms) to achieve a zero-incident workplace. Key duties include conducting site inspections, performing risk assessments, implementing safety training, and managing accident investigations.
Core Responsibilities
- Site Safety Management: Lead daily safety audits, inspections, and monitoring of personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all civil engineering work complies with OSHA, EPA, or local building safety regulations and policies.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential hazards, develop safety procedures (e.g., fall protection, fire prevention), and enforce preventative measures.
- Training & Education: Conduct safety orientation for new employees and regular toolbox talks or training for workers and subcontractors.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents or near-misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, HSE, or equivalent experience; often requires specialized certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA.
- Experience: Generally, 8–15+ years of experience in civil, construction, or real estate safety management.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction safety practices, building codes (e.g., IS codes, NBC), and emergency procedures.
- Skills: Strong communication, leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
