Job Summary
Restaurant Manager – Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Ensure exceptional guest service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the restaurant team to achieve operational excellence.
- Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate restaurant staff.
- Prepare duty rosters, manage attendance, and approve leave schedules.
- Monitor service standards and ensure compliance with hotel SOPs.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team for menu planning and service quality.
- Manage food and beverage costs and control operational expenses.
- Monitor daily sales, revenue, and profitability against budget.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (FSSAI/HACCP).
- Conduct daily briefings and departmental meetings.
- Monitor inventory, stock levels, and coordinate purchasing requirements.
- Ensure proper billing, cash handling, and POS operations.
- Plan and execute promotions, events, and banquet requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of restaurant equipment and facilities.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Sales departments.
- Monitor staff grooming, discipline, and performance.
- Achieve departmental revenue and guest satisfaction targets.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and statutory regulations.
- Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager or General Manager.
Assistant Restaurant Manager – Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in managing daily restaurant operations.
- Supervise restaurant staff during shifts and ensure smooth service.
- Maintain high standards of guest service and hospitality.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist in preparing staff schedules and duty rosters.
- Conduct daily shift briefings and ensure staff readiness.
- Monitor service quality and ensure SOP compliance.
- Train new employees on service standards and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure timely food preparation and service.
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Assist in inventory management and stock control.
- Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, and POS transactions.
- Support banquet and special event operations when required.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, and discipline.
- Assist in controlling food and beverage costs and minimizing wastage.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
- Ensure restaurant equipment is maintained and operational.
- Coordinate with other hotel departments for seamless guest service.
- Act as the Restaurant Manager during their absence.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Food & Beverage Manager.
