Colstay Limited (Hive Hostels) is seeking a proactive and organised Operation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of student hostel properties. This role requires strong coordination between tenants, maintenance teams, and management to ensure a safe, comfortable, and high-quality living environment.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Property & Strategic Oversight
- Standardization: Enforce consistent brand standards, service quality, and operational procedures across all assigned properties.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct weekly site visits and audits to evaluate cleanliness, maintenance, and staff performance at each location.
- Escalation Support: Act as the ultimate point of escalation for complex guest, operational, or legal issues that Property Managers cannot resolve.
- Launch & Expansion: Oversee the operational setup, staffing, and launch of new hostel properties within the region.
Team Leadership & People Management
- Direct Supervision: Manage, mentor, and evaluate a team of Property Managers, holding them accountable for their respective hostel's performance.
- Structure Management: Oversee a large hierarchy of indirect reports, including front desk agents, housekeeping supervisors, security, and event coordinators.
- Talent Development: Lead recruitment for management roles, implement training programs, and design succession plans to retain top talent.
- Resource Allocation: Strategically shift staff or management resources between properties to handle peak seasons or operational emergencies.
Financial Accountability & Revenue Growth
- P&L Responsibility: Hold full accountability for the financial performance, budgeting, and cost control of all properties in the cluster.
- Revenue Strategy: Partner with the revenue management team to optimize pricing, occupancy, and ancillary revenue (tours, F&B, merchandise).
- Vendor Negotiations: Secure and manage cluster-wide vendor contracts (laundry, maintenance, supplies) to leverage economies of scale and reduce costs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of hospitality management experience, with at least 2–3 years in a multi-property or regional role (Hostels, Co-living, or Budget Hotels preferred).
- Leadership Scale: Proven track record of managing large, diverse teams and successfully leading other managers.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS), channel managers, and multi-property analytics tools.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
