Project coordinator
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Telecom Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and closing of our telecommunications infrastructure projects (including fiber optics, 5G deployments, and network upgrades). You will work directly with our Technical Project Managers to manage site schedules, track equipment logistics, handle documentation/permitting, and maintain constant communication with field crews and vendors. Your core goal is to keep projects moving smoothly, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule & Milestone Tracking: Create, update, and maintain detailed project schedules and tracking sheets using project management software. Monitor critical paths for site acquisition, permitting, and hardware installation.
Logistics & Materials Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of specialized telecom equipment (antennas, cabling, routers, fiber rolls) to field sites. Manage purchase orders and track vendor delivery timelines.
Permitting & Compliance: Facilitate and track local municipality permits, right-of-way (ROW) approvals, and environmental/utility clearances required before site construction begins.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the central point of contact between cross-functional teams, including field engineers, subcontractors, utility companies, clients, and internal finance.
Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive project records, including Closeout Packages (COPs), "as-built" engineering drawings, quality checklists, and site photos.
Financial Tracking: Monitor project expenditures, track contractor invoicing against progress milestones, and assist the PM with budget reconciliation.
Field Engineer
Required Skills & Experience
Industry Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project coordination, specifically within the telecommunications or utilities sector (Wireless, Wireline, Fiber, or Cell Site deployment).
Technical Familiarity: Basic understanding of telecom technologies and infrastructure components (e.g., fiber optics, 4G/5G nodes, ISP/OSP, cell tower structures).
