Summary:
As an Industrial Protocol Integration Support Engineer, a typical day involves supporting, stabilizing, and continuously improving industrial OT applications and systems aligned to Modbus, OPC DA/UA, Matrikon OPC Servers, and Kepware KEPServerEX. The role requires working in an AMS / production support environment, collaborating with operations, IT, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve incidents, support enhancements, and maintain reliable service delivery. The candidate will use domain knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and support governance practices to ensure system availability, SLA adherence, and continuous service improvement. Provide AMS support for PLC communication and industrial protocol integration, with focus on Modbus, OPC, Matrikon, and Kepware connectivity, troubleshooting, and reliable data exchange across downstream manufacturing systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
Contribute in providing solutions to work-related problems.
Provide L2 support for Modbus, OPC, Matrikon, and Kepware communication issues.
Troubleshoot PLC-device, OPC Server, and SCADA-PLC connectivity problems.
Support configuration and maintenance of Matrikon OPC Servers and Kepware KEPServerEX.
Support integration testing, protocol mapping, and tag validation activities.
Perform minor enhancements and configuration changes.
Coordinate with plant, OEM, PLC, and SCADA teams for issue resolution.
Maintain communication mapping, documentation, and knowledge base.
Monitor industrial data exchange and troubleshoot data quality or interface issues.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Modbus, OPC DA/UA, Matrikon OPC, and Kepware KEPServerEX.
Modbus protocol (RTU/TCP).
OPC DA / OPC UA architecture and troubleshooting.
Matrikon OPC Server configuration and support.
Kepware KEPServerEX administration and troubleshooting.
PLC communication troubleshooting.
Device integration and industrial protocol gateway configuration.
AMS support processes and ticket management.
Industrial automation fundamentals.
Strong protocol troubleshooting capability.
Good understanding of industrial communication architecture.
Ability to analyze data flow, tag mapping, and interface issues.
Good coordination and support delivery skills in AMS environments.
Good To Have Skills:
SCADA integration (Ignition, Wonderware, AVEVA System Platform, FactoryTalk View).
Historian connectivity and data collection troubleshooting.
Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus).
Gateway/converter configuration.
Multi-vendor PLC exposure (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, ABB).
MQTT or edge connectivity concepts.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have relevant experience in SCADA, Networking(SCADA) and AMS / production support environments.
- Experience in downstream manufacturing, OT, SCADA, PLC, DCS, historian, industrial integration, or energy domain support is preferred where applicable.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full-time education is required.
