Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) Operator Setter Cum Operator to set up, operate, and monitor VTL machines for machining large and heavy components as per engineering drawings and quality requirements. The candidate should have experience in machine setup, tool setting, parameter adjustment, inspection, and production activities while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate VTL machines for machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and process sheets.
- Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
- Perform machine setting, alignment, and job loading/unloading.
- Establish machining parameters such as speed, feed, and depth of cut.
- Conduct roughing and finishing operations according to specifications.
- Measure components using precision instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Ensure product quality and adherence to customer specifications.
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process quality checks.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and minimize production downtime.
- Maintain production records and inspection reports.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and keep machines in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety procedures, 5S practices, and company policies.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance departments to achieve production targets.
