With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and technical Training Manager to lead our Controls Engineering Learning & Development division. This role is designed for a veteran leader with a deep background in Gas/Steam Turbine Systems and Controls Software Engineering.
Unlike a traditional trainer, you will be the architect of our engineering competency roadmap. You will bridge the gap between complex technical requirements—ranging from HMI UI/UX to Cyber Security and High-Fidelity Simulations—and organizational scaling. Your leadership will directly ensure that our engineering pipeline is robust, high-performing, and aligned with our $20M+ project portfolio.
Key Managerial & Strategic Responsibilities
-
Strategic L&D Roadmap: Design and execute an end-to-end training strategy for the Controls division, focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI), Sustenance, and Obsolescence Engineering.
-
Operational Governance: Oversee the delivery of 40+ training programs annually, ensuring 95% on-time completion and a 90% certification success rate.
-
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, and HR to align training outcomes with project delivery milestones and commissioning support.
-
Performance Analytics: Implement data-driven metrics to track Post-Training Performance Improvement (target: 85%) and trainee satisfaction (NPS).
-
Innovation Leadership: Drive the adoption of AI, VR simulations, and Cloud-based Operator Training Simulators (OTS) to modernize the learning experience.
-
Team Mentorship: Lead and develop a team of Training Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Core Technical Domain Oversight
-
Controls Software: Oversee training in Software Development, Validation/Testing, and Process Improvements.
-
UI/UX & HMI: Standardize mastery in Activepoint HMI, Legacy Screens, and Alarm Rationalization.
-
Hardware Engineering: Ensure competency in Panel Design, Manufacturing Drawings, BoM generation, and Heat/Power calculations.
-
Network & Cyber Security: Develop curricula for Network Architecture and Cyber Risk Assessment implementation.
-
Modelling & Simulation: Lead the strategy for Combined Cycle Plant simulations and issue debugging training.
