Job Summary
The Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient samples to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. The role involves operating laboratory equipment, maintaining quality standards, recording test results, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, label, and process patient specimens including blood, urine, stool, and other samples.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures as per established protocols.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and test materials required for laboratory procedures.
- Record, analyze, and report test results accurately and promptly.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and biomedical waste.
- Maintain laboratory records, logs, and documentation.
- Follow quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Adhere to laboratory safety standards and infection control practices.
- Assist pathologists, microbiologists, and other healthcare professionals as required.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement of laboratory supplies.
- Report equipment malfunctions and assist in troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid registration/license (if required by local regulations).
- 1–3 years of experience in a hospital, diagnostic center, or clinical laboratory preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications may also apply.

- Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and holidays as required.
Reporting To
- Laboratory Manager / Chief Lab Technician / Pathologist
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of test results.
- Timely reporting of laboratory findings.
- Compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Proper maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Adherence to documentation and record-keeping requirements.
Salary
- As per company standards and candidate experience.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
