Role: Tool & Die Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:Tool & Die Design
- Design and develop tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges for manufacturing processes
- Prepare 2D and 3D designs as per production requirements
- Modify and improve existing tools for better efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure tooling designs meet quality and production standards
Process Development
- Develop tooling concepts for new product development (NPD)
- Support trial runs and tooling validation
- Optimize manufacturing process flow through improved tooling
- Work on cost reduction and cycle time improvement
Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams
- Support PPC for tooling readiness as per production plans
- Resolve shopfloor tooling issues quickly
- Work closely with vendors for tool manufacturing and development
Quality & Improvement
- Ensure tooling precision and dimensional accuracy
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures
- Implement Kaizen and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain tool life records and preventive actions
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of Tool & Die design principles
- Experience in sheet metal dies, welding fixtures, and production tooling
- Hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar CAD software
- Understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of material selection and tool life improvement
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in Bicycle / Automotive / Fabrication / Scaffolding manufacturing
- Knowledge of press tools, fixtures, and welding jigs
- Experience in NPD tooling and prototype development
Performance Indicators (KPI):
- Tool development completion on time

- Support in faster NPD trials
