The RCI Registered Psychologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychological assessment, counselling, psychometric evaluation, rehabilitation planning, and psychosocial support across the Integrated Mental Health, Legal Aid (Child Protection), Career Counselling & Psychosocial Support Centre under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Centre for Empowerment. The role encompasses mental health counselling, career guidance and vocational assessment, child protection and legal aid counselling, de-addiction counselling, crisis intervention, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation services.
The incumbent will work with children, students, adolescents, adults, women, persons with disabilities, individuals with mental health conditions, survivors of abuse and violence, and persons recovering from substance dependence. The Psychologist will conduct evidence-based psychological interventions, prepare assessment reports and case documentation, develop individualized rehabilitation plans, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and referral agencies, and contribute to the promotion of mental health, social inclusion, rehabilitation, and community well-being while ensuring ethical practice and adherence to RCI standards.
Key Responsibilities
Mental Health & Rehabilitation Centre
· Conduct psychological assessments and mental status examinations.
· Provide individual, family and group counselling as required
· Conduct psychometric and psychological testing.
· Prepare psychological assessment reports.
· Maintain confidential case records.
Job Placement & Career Counselling Centre
· Conduct career counselling sessions.
· Administer aptitude, personality and career assessment tools.
· Identify vocational strengths and employment readiness.
· Recommend suitable job placement pathways.
· Support employability planning for youth and persons with disabilities.
Legal Aid Clinic
· Provide trauma-informed counselling to:
· Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP)
· POCSO victims
· Abused girls and women
· Domestic Violence survivors
· Victims of emotional and psychological abuse
· Conduct psychosocial assessments.
· Prepare psychological case studies and reports for legal proceedings where required.
· Coordinate with Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Police, One Stop Centres, Protection Officers, and Legal Services Authorities.
De-Addiction Centre
· Conduct addiction screening and psychological assessment.
· Provide motivational counselling.
· Conduct relapse prevention counselling.
· Facilitate family counselling sessions.
· Prepare rehabilitation and recovery plans.
· Maintain treatment documentation and follow-up records. (Support of Clinical Psychologist/Psychiatrist will be provided on need basis)
General Responsibilities
· Develop awareness programmes on mental health.
· Conduct life skills and stress management workshops.
· Maintain proper documentation and MIS reports.
· Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences.
· Ensure ethical practice and confidentiality.
· Build referral linkages with hospitals, NGOs and government departments.
Required Qualifications
· Education:
· MA/M.Ss/PG in Psychology/Applied Psychology/or related post graduate degree recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) as per the current RCI regulations.
· M.Phil./or higher degree in specialised area (Clinical/Counselling/Applied Psychology) as the qualifying degree.
· Registration: Mandatory: Valid Registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Experience:
· Minimum 3–5 years of post-registration experience.
· Experience in NGOs, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, mental health institutions, child protection, community mental health, and disability and multi sector will be preferred
· Desirable Experience:

· Establish referral networks with hospitals and mental health professionals.
Month 3
· Achieve regular counselling services across all programme verticals.
· Complete psychometric assessments for identified beneficiaries.
· Submit monthly analytical reports.
· Conduct mental health awareness programmes.
· Demonstrate measurable improvements in beneficiary engagement, counselling outcomes, rehabilitation planning, and career guidance services.
