About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to lead our fabrication and manufacturing operations for fermentation equipment, bioreactors, stainless steel process vessels, pressure vessels, and industrial process equipment used in research laboratories, pilot plants, and industrial-scale manufacturing.
The candidate should have strong practical experience in workshop management, fabrication processes, production planning, and workforce supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete day-to-day production activities in the fabrication workshop.
- Supervise and coordinate welders, fitters, fabricators, machinists, polishers, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Plan daily production schedules and ensure timely project completion.
- Monitor fabrication, assembly, testing, polishing, and dispatch activities.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain production records and daily work reports.
- Allocate manpower efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement, stores, quality, and installation teams.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and improve workflow efficiency.
- Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage.
- Ensure workplace safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain product quality.
- Train workers on fabrication standards, safety practices, and quality requirements.
- Handle customer inspection visits whenever required.
- Maintain discipline and productivity within the workshop.
Technical Skills Required
Candidates should have practical experience in manufacturing and fabrication of:
- Fermenters
- Bioreactors
- Stainless Steel Process Vessels
- Mixing Tanks
- Pressure Vessels
- CIP/SIP Systems
- Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Equipment
- Dairy, Food, or Chemical Process Equipment
- SS Piping and Process Skids
Experience in the following fabrication activities is preferred:
- TIG Welding
- MIG Welding
- Stainless Steel Fabrication
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Vessel Assembly
- Mechanical Assembly
- Surface Finishing and Polishing
- Hydro Testing
- Pneumatic Testing
- Quality Inspection
Preferred Knowledge (Not Mandatory)
Candidates having exposure to the following will be given preference:
- ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
- Pressure Vessel Manufacturing Standards
- GMP Manufacturing Practices
- ISO Quality Systems
- Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
- Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Material Test Certificates (MTC)
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawings
- Fabrication drawings and GA drawings
- Production Planning and Inventory Control
Essential Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fabrication or manufacturing of process equipment.
- Strong leadership and worker management skills.
- Ability to independently manage an entire fabrication workshop.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to work under project deadlines.
- Hands-on approach with strong technical understanding.
