Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced RF Communication Engineer to join our Aerospace and defence R&D Division. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and integration of RF communication systems used in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The role involves working on secure and reliable air-to-ground data links and supporting system-level integration in line with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop RF communication links for UAV command, control, telemetry, and video data. Perform link budget analysis, RF propagation studies, and frequency planning. Select and integrate RF components such as transceivers, antennas, amplifiers, filters, and cables. Conduct RF testing and measurements using standard instruments validate it with theoretical calculations. Support EMI/EMC testing, interference reduction, and design/ implement RF shielding for compliance. Collaborate with avionics, software, and payload teams for system integration and field validation. Work on secure communication links and ensure compliance with defence communication standards. Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and maintain configuration records after each testing. Participate in qualification, certification, and review activities as per project and regulatory requirements. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or RF/Microwave Engineering. Master’s Degree in a related field preferred. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred Required Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of RF communication principles, modulation techniques, and antenna theory, electromagnetic interference, amplifiers, radio’s etc. Experience with RF simulation tools (ADS, CST, HFSS, MATLAB, etc.). Must have hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analysers, network analysers, and signal generators. Knowledge of communication protocols (UART, SPI, Ethernet, IP-based data links). Familiarity and hands on experience with C2 and telemetry systems used in UAVs. Understanding of MIMO systems, frequency hopping, and diversity reception techniques. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize RF system performance and link reliability. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Good written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with good documentation habits. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to industry protocols. Preferred Experience (Added Advantage): Experience with various frequency bands, antenna’s, telemetry and amplifiers used in UAVs. Exposure to satellite communication, mesh networking, or long-range RF systems. Hands-on experience with RF PCB layout or RF system simulation. Understanding of regulatory standards.
Pay: ₹8,766.96 - ₹36,607.59 per month
