Job Description – Senior Data Engineer (3–5 Years Experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in modern data platforms and tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Synapse Analytics, SSIS, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric, along with proven contributions to project delivery, data ingestion, validation, and quality frameworks. This role requires strong technical ownership, the ability to collaborate across teams, and a passion for building scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Ingestion & Integration:
Design and implement pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud services) using ADF, SSIS, and Databricks.
- Data Validation & Quality Checks:
Apply robust validation rules, quality checks, and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of ingested data.
- Data Modeling & Transformation:
Develop scalable data models and transformations in Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Reporting & Visualization:
Collaborate with business teams to deliver insights through Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring alignment with business KPIs.
- Project Contribution & Ownership:
Take ownership of assigned modules, contribute to end-to-end project delivery, and maintain deep knowledge of the systems and processes within assigned projects.
- Innovation & Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to optimize pipelines, automate repetitive tasks, and introduce new approaches to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Provide clear documentation and communicate effectively during customer workshops and reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Databricks
- Synapse Analytics
- SSIS
- Power BI
- Microsoft Fabric
- Strong experience in data ingestion, validation, and quality frameworks.
- Proven track record of contributing to projects and maintaining strong ownership of assigned modules.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing concepts, and cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong communication skills for customer engagement and cross-team collaboration.
Certifications
- One or more certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Power BI, or related Microsoft technologies (preferred).
