Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented HTML/XML/ePub Executive to join our digital production team. You will be responsible for converting, formatting, and validating content into various digital formats, ensuring high-quality standards for e-books and digital publications.
Key Responsibilities
Conversion: Convert source files (PDF, MS Word, InDesign) into ePub2, ePub3, and XML formats.
Coding: Perform manual tagging and styling using HTML5 and CSS3 to ensure layout accuracy.
Validation: Use tools like EpubCheck to ensure all files are error-free and meet industry standards (IDPF).
Quality Control: Perform thorough QC on various devices (Kindle, iPad, Android tablets) to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
Troubleshooting: Identify and fix formatting issues, broken links, and metadata errors in digital files.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of XML, HTML5, CSS, and DTD.
Tools: Experience with Adobe InDesign, Sigil, or Oxygen XML Editor.
Standards: Familiarity with Amazon Kindle (mobi/azw3) and Fixed Layout (FXL) ePubs.
Attention to Detail: Ability to catch minor coding errors that affect the final display.
