A Senior Graphic Designer in the fashion industry creates original visual assets, typography-driven art, and print designs for apparel and marketing campaigns. They translate fashion trends and brand narratives into compelling visual stories, oversee the entire creative process from concept to final production, and often mentor junior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Apparel Graphics: Design original illustrations, prints, and typography for T-shirts, hoodies, and other garments.
- Campaign Assets: Create visual graphics for social media, digital ads, emailers, and print materials.
- Trend Research: Track global fashion, streetwear, and lifestyle trends to inform upcoming collections.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all creative assets adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a premium visual identity.
- Production Prep: Prepare production-ready artwork files for various garment printing and embroidery methods.
- Team Leadership: Manage multiple design projects, provide creative direction, and guide junior designers
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on graphic design experience, ideally within a fashion label, apparel brand, or agency.
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Fashion Knowledge: Solid understanding of garment construction, textiles, and printing methods (e.g., screen printing, DTG, embroidery).
- Design Fundamentals: Strong eye for typography, color theory, and layout composition.
- Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing original apparel graphics, typography, and marketing campaigns.
Preferred Skills
- Motion Graphics: Basic knowledge of video editing and animation for social media and digital promotions.
