A Field Recruiter for Commercial Drivers sources, screens, and hires qualified commercial vehicle operators . Spend significant time out of the office engaging with active and passive candidates through field visits, transport hubs, and driver networks to meet fleet staffing needs.
- Sourcing & Outreach: Build a strong driver pool by visiting trucking terminals, transport hubs, driving schools, and community events in the local Mumbai/Maharashtra area.
- Credential Verification: Thoroughly check and validate critical documents, including Driving Licenses, badge numbers, identity proofs, and prior commercial experience.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all candidates meet company policies and statutory transportation safety standards.
- Screening & Interviewing: Conduct initial phone screenings and in-person interviews to assess the driver's experience, traffic-law knowledge, and overall road safety record.
- Onboarding & Induction: Coordinate joining formalities, manage paperwork, and facilitate basic safety and route orientation for new hires.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain an active database of commercial drivers to ensure fast deployment for upcoming trips or loading requirements. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Core Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of recruitment experience, ideally within the transport, logistics, or fleet management sector.
- Licensing Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy motor vehicle (HMV), transport licensing, and local state or central motor vehicle regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage with a diverse pool of drivers and build rapport.
- Mobility & Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently for on-site recruitment drives, job fairs, and field networking.
- Tech-Savviness: Basic proficiency with smartphones, GPS applications, and applicant tracking systems
Pay: ₹350,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
