Key Responsibilities
- Product Development & Costing: Review buyer tech packs, prepare detailed garment cost sheets, negotiate prices, and oversee the creation of proto, fit, and pre-production (PP) samples
- Order Management & T&A: Create and control the Time & Action (T&A) calendar. Manage purchase orders (POs), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and track fabric/trim approvals (e.g., lab dips, strike-offs).
- Production & Quality Oversight: Coordinate with knitting, dyeing, and sewing units to prevent bottlenecks. Ensure the factory adheres to buyer quality standards (AQL), compliance requirements, and chemical testing (GSM, colorfastness, etc.).
- Logistics & Documentation: Oversee final inspections, approve shipping marks, and prepare export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, L/C management) to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
- Team Leadership & Vendor Development: Guide and mentor junior merchandisers, evaluate vendor performance, and foster long-term supplier relationships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Typically 5 to 10+ years of end-to-end merchandising experience in export houses, buying offices, or apparel manufacturing.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of garment manufacturing processes (wovens, knits, or specialized segments like denim), fabric consumption, and global compliance standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), ERP systems (like SAP), and supply chain management tools.
Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
