Total Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in the Insurance Industry
· Domain Expertise: Minimum 8–10 years of core experience in Motor Insurance Sales.
Required Competencies:
· Sector Background: Prior experience in an Insurance Broking firm is mandatory. Candidates from General Insurance companies with strong broker-channel experience may also be considered.
· Geographical Experience: Strong working knowledge of the Odisha market and a local network of agents/clients are essential.
· Leadership Track Record: Proven experience in managing large, multi-location teams and a sizeable P&L.
· Education: Graduate in any stream is required; an MBA in Marketing or Finance is highly preferred.
· Professional Certification: Certification from the Insurance Institute of India (III) or IRDAI-specified qualifications will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities & KRAs (Performance Metrics)
· Regional P&L Ownership: Lead the entire Motor Insurance business for Odisha, ensuring the region meets its top-line premium and bottom-line profitability targets.
· Strategic Market Penetration: Identify and tap into high-potential clusters in Odisha for Commercial Vehicles (CV), Private Cars (PC), and Two-Wheelers (TW).
· Corporate & Fleet Acquisition: Directly engage and onboard large fleet operators, logistics companies, and corporate houses for their motor insurance requirements.
· POSP Network Scaling: Drive the massive recruitment and activation of Point of Sales Persons (POSPs) to ensure a deep-rooted distribution presence across every district in Odisha.
· Renewal Strategy & Persistency: Implement a robust renewal tracking system to ensure a minimum 85% retention of the existing motor portfolio.
· Insurers & Dealer Relations: Build strong relationships with various General Insurance companies to negotiate the best quotes, add-on covers, and claim settlement priorities.
· Team Development: Hire, mentor, and track the performance of Area and Unit Managers, ensuring a culture of high productivity and ethical sales.
· Claims Management Oversight: Oversee the regional claims assistance process, ensuring clients receive timely support and hassle-free settlements.
· Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to IRDAI guidelines regarding motor tariffs, commissions, and KYC documentation.
· Product Training: Ensure the sales team and POSP partners are fully trained for instant policy issuance.
· Competitive Intelligence: Regularly analyze competitor pricing and payout structures in the Odisha market to keep Maklav’s offerings ahead of the curve.
· Reporting & MIS: Provide detailed weekly and monthly performance reports to the National Head on regional growth, conversion rates, and market challenges.
