JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (ATOT)

Job Purpose
The Assistant Professor – ATOT is responsible for delivering effective teaching and practical training, maintaining academic standards, supporting students, and carrying out academic and administrative responsibilities in accordance with the institution's policies and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Training
- Deliver theory lectures, practical demonstrations, tutorials, and training sessions as per the approved curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching schedules, presentations, practical exercises, and other instructional material.
- Use appropriate teaching methodologies to improve student understanding and participation.
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus.
- Conduct practical and skill-based training according to course requirements.
2. Student Assessment
- Prepare and conduct internal examinations, class tests, assignments, practical assessments, and viva examinations.
- Evaluate students fairly and maintain accurate academic records.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and arrange remedial teaching where necessary.
- Provide regular feedback to students regarding their academic performance.
3. Academic Documentation
- Maintain attendance registers, lesson plans, course files, assessment records, practical records, and other required documentation.
- Prepare academic reports and submit them to the HOD/Principal within prescribed timelines.
- Maintain records required for inspections, audits, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
4. Student Guidance & Mentoring
- Provide academic guidance and mentoring to students.
- Encourage discipline, professional conduct, regular attendance, and active participation.
- Counsel students regarding academic progress, practical training, examinations, and career development.
- Support students in developing communication, professional, and employability skills.
5. Practical/Laboratory Responsibilities
- Ensure proper conduct of practical classes and demonstrations.
- Maintain equipment, instruments, teaching aids, and laboratory/training resources assigned to the department.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during practical sessions.
- Report requirements for equipment, consumables, maintenance, or repairs to the concerned authority.
6. Academic & Institutional Activities
- Participate in faculty meetings, departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty development programmes.
- Assist in organizing examinations, admissions, orientation programmes, cultural activities, academic events, and institutional functions.
- Participate in committees and other responsibilities assigned by the management.
- Support quality assurance, accreditation, inspection, and institutional development activities.
7. Research & Professional Development
- Keep knowledge and professional skills updated in the relevant subject area.
- Participate in research, publications, seminars, conferences, workshops, and professional development activities where applicable.
- Encourage innovative teaching and training practices.
- Contribute to the academic development of the department and institution.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree/Postgraduate qualification in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution.
- Qualification and experience should comply with the norms prescribed by the applicable regulatory authority/institution.
- Teaching or relevant professional experience will be preferred.
- Good communication, presentation, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to maintain academic records digitally.

General Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor shall maintain confidentiality, discipline, punctuality, and professional ethics and shall perform any additional academic, examination, administrative, admission, or institutional duties assigned by the Principal, HOD, or Management from time to time.
Note: The duties and responsibilities may be modified according to institutional requirements and applicable regulatory norms.
Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
