National Sales Manager

Job Objective
The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing the Company's national sales strategy across Retail, General Trade, Modern Trade, HoReCa, Institutional, and E-commerce channels. The role is accountable for driving sales growth, expanding distribution networks, leading the national sales team, and achieving the Company's business objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and implement the national sales strategy aligned with the Company's business goals.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across all business channels.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence across India.
- Build long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners.
Distribution Management
- Appoint and manage Super Stockists, Distributors, and channel partners across assigned territories.
- Expand distribution reach and improve market penetration.
- Monitor distributor performance, inventory, and sales growth.
Channel Development
Drive business growth across:
- General Trade (GT)
- Modern Trade (MT)
- Retail
- HoReCa
- Institutional Sales
- E-commerce
Sales Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, mentor, and lead Regional Sales Managers, Area Sales Managers, Sales Officers, and Sales Executives.
- Set performance objectives and monitor team productivity.
- Conduct regular business reviews and sales meetings.
- Guide the team to improve execution and market coverage.
Market Operations
- Conduct regular market visits across India.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and market trends.
- Identify new product opportunities and customer requirements.
- Ensure excellent market execution and brand visibility.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Marketing for promotional activities.
- Work closely with Production and Supply Chain to ensure product availability.
- Coordinate with Finance regarding collections, credit limits, and outstanding payments.
- Support new product launches and expansion initiatives.
Field Assist Monitoring
The Company uses Field Assist as its official Sales Force Automation (SFA) platform.
The National Sales Manager will:
- Ensure 100% adoption of Field Assist across the sales organization.
- Monitor daily attendance and field movement.
- Review route plans and outlet coverage.
- Track sales productivity and order booking.
- Monitor Regional Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers through Field Assist dashboards.
- Ensure timely updating of customer, distributor, and outlet data.
- Use Field Assist reports and analytics for performance management and corrective action plans.
- Improve team discipline, reporting accuracy, and sales efficiency through the platform.

Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (Mandatory)
- MBA in Marketing or Sales preferred
Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in FMCG Sales.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-state sales operations.
- Experience in packaged food, instant food, spices, snacks, frozen foods, or FMCG products will be preferred.
- Strong experience in distributor and channel management across India.
